Company Profile: SebaKMT

Since the early days of Seba Dynatronic, a consistent corporate philosophy has ensured the company’s continuous and successful development: Founder Dr. Herbert Iann was already driving technological innovation and consistently focused on new and further developments. Soon after the company was founded, he expanded the company’s portfolio to include the production and development of measurement technology for leak detection in drinking water distribution networks. This was followed by devices for pipeline location (1960s), fault location devices for power cables (1970s), and for telecommunications cables (1980s). As early as 1971, the first fully equipped power cable measurement vehicle was delivered—and to this day, the company continues to set standards in this field.

The children of the company’s founder, Dr. Max Iann and Adriane Iann, who continued to run the company after his death in 1995, also remained true to this philosophy. Securing technological leadership has been—and remains—crucial to the company’s success. Research and development therefore play a pivotal role: Approximately 95% of all SebaKMT® products are developed in-house. User training is therefore also a high priority for the company. Since the mid-1990s, SebaKMT® has been offering its customers hands-on seminars at its in-house training center on the latest equipment and methods for leak detection, network monitoring, cable fault location, and cable diagnostics.

Since 2012,SebaKMT® has beenpart of the British Megger Group, a leading global supplier of measurement and testing equipment for the energy and water industries. With this merger, the Baunach-based company laid the foundation for continued successful growth, expanding its market position, and further strengthening its international focus: Even before the acquisition by Megger,SebaKMT®’sexport sharewas around 70%. Together, the companies now offer a unique range of testing equipment for the energy and water industries and have a global presence.
