SmartEAR® is an innovative acoustic leak detection system that has been specially developed for the early detection of water leaks in pipe networks. It uses highly sensitive sensors and advanced algorithms to identify and analyze the sound of leaks.
SmartEAR® enables utilities and network operators to efficiently and accurately locate leaks before they cause major damage or water loss. The technology is designed to simplify the leak detection process and increase the efficiency of water loss reduction.
SmartEAR® is ready for use in just a few minutes. The device is simply positioned at the desired measuring point, switched on - and it starts recording and analyzing sounds from the environment.
Thanks to the user-friendly operation and fast acoustic detection, leak detection can be started immediately without time-consuming set-up or calibration. In conjunction with POSEYEDON®, the recorded data can also be analyzed directly and integrated into a comprehensive network monitoring system.
The Li-metal cell (hereinafter referred to as the battery) of the SmartEAR® lasts up to 9 years, depending on use and environmental conditions. This eliminates the need for costly regular battery changes, and the device remains reliable in use for many years.
As the battery is not permanently installed, it can be replaced if necessary without having to replace the entire device. SmartEAR® is therefore a low-maintenance and long-term solution for leak detection.
SmartEAR® uses the LTE-M and NB-IoT radio standards for wireless data transmission. These technologies ensure a reliable connection, even in remote areas or underground installations. Thanks to its low energy consumption, the system remains operational for up to 9 years without the need for frequent battery changes. In addition, real-time data transmission enables fast and precise leak detection. Integration with POSEYEDON® allows the data collected to be processed efficiently and used for intelligent leak monitoring.
The data from SmartEAR® is transmitted directly to a central cloud platform via the LTE-M and NB-IoT wireless standards. From there, it is transferred to POSEYEDON®, where it is processed, analyzed and used for intelligent leak monitoring.
Our POSEYEDON® Cloud is hosted on Microsoft Azure servers in Germany to ensure the highest security and data protection standards. Cybersecurity is a top priority for us, which is why all data is protected with 128-bit encryption. This ensures that sensitive information is processed securely and reliably at all times.
No, no additional hardware is required to set up SmartEAR® - apart from a cell phone or tablet with our app for iOS & Android. The intuitive app makes it easy to set up, control and analyze the collected data, so SmartEAR® is ready to use right out of the box.
